About Best Dessert Da Nang
We're an independent dessert guide focused entirely on Da Nang, Vietnam. Our mission: honest, tested reviews that help tourists, expats, and locals find the best sweet things the city has to offer.
Who We Are
Best Dessert Da Nang is an independent editorial guide run by a small team of food writers and local experts who live in Da Nang full-time. Our mission is simple: honest, tested, and practical reviews of the city's best desserts — the kind of guide we wished had existed when we arrived.
Unlike generic travel lists that recommend the same five spots without ever explaining why — or whether the writer actually visited — every review on this site is based on real visits and real delivery orders. We score each dessert across six carefully chosen criteria and update our ratings as the city's food scene evolves.
Da Nang doesn't always get the food coverage it deserves. Most guides focus on Hội An or Hồ Chí Minh City. We think Da Nang's dessert scene is genuinely interesting — a mix of traditional Vietnamese sweets, French-influenced baking, and a growing crop of creative independent operators. This site is our attempt to document it properly.

How We Rate Desserts
Every dessert on this site is scored across six criteria. Here's what each one means and why it made the list.
- Taste
- The most important criterion by a distance. Does it taste excellent? Is the flavour balanced? Is the texture right? A score above 9.0 means it genuinely surprised us. Below 7.0 means we had reservations.
- Value
- Da Nang sits in a price range where most desserts cost between 30,000 and 100,000 VND. We score value relative to that range — not just how cheap something is, but whether the quality justifies what you pay.
- Availability
- Can you reliably get this dessert? Is it available daily, or only certain days or seasons? A high score here means you can order or visit with confidence at most times.
- Grab Delivery
- Da Nang residents and tourists increasingly rely on Grab for food delivery. This score reflects whether the dessert is available on Grab, how fast it arrives, and — crucially — whether it survives the journey in good condition.
- Uniqueness
- Is this something you can only find in Da Nang, or only from this particular vendor? We rate desserts higher when they offer something genuinely distinct — a recipe, a technique, or an experience you won't easily replicate elsewhere.
- Tourist-Friendly
- Can a first-time visitor easily order, understand the menu, and have a smooth experience? This covers English menu availability, payment flexibility, ease of finding the place, and whether the ordering process is accessible to non-Vietnamese speakers.
Editorial Independence
Every review on this site is independent and unsponsored. No dessert vendor has paid for placement, a higher score, or editorial coverage. I visit or order from each place on my own initiative and cover my own costs. If that ever changes for a specific review, I will disclose it clearly on that page.
I try to update scores when circumstances change — if a kitchen declines in quality, if prices shift significantly, or if a business closes. If you notice something is out of date, please use the contact page to let me know.
Our Process
For each dessert reviewed on this site, I follow the same process:
- In-person visit. I visit the location or order directly at the source at least once, ideally more than once across different days and times.
- Delivery order. Where Grab delivery is available, I order at least once through the app to assess how the product travels and what the delivery experience is like.
- Comparison. I consider each dessert in the context of Da Nang's overall dessert landscape — not in isolation, but relative to what the city offers in the same category and price range.
- Scoring. I apply the six criteria consistently. Scores are not rounded up for friendliness. A 7.0 means decent but not exceptional. A 9.5 means genuinely outstanding.
The goal is a guide I'd want to read myself: specific, honest, and useful for someone who has one evening and wants to spend it on a dessert worth remembering.
